In July, 2018 ICEDC conducted a teacher training program in Pune with a focus on raising awareness among teachers about the relevance of 21st century skills and build on their proficiency to effectively instill 21st century values and skills in students. Utkarsha English Medium School was one of the participants with 44 teachers and the principal on board. Vinaylal Vanaji Ujgare, a teacher from Utkarsha English Medium School, implemented some skill building strategies that she acquired from the training. She incorporated the techniques into her classroom by assigning students a project on animal habitat. At the end of the project, the teacher reported that there was an obvious improvement in communication, collaboration, analytical and problem solving skills in her students.
